The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) SWENext program is an opportunity for students, ages 5 to through 18 years old, to join the “SWE engineering and technology community”. It is a free program that provides access to mentors, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs, engineering careers and much more. Students are encouraged and inspired to be curious about STEM and to use their creativity. Throughout the year, students receive a monthly SWENext newsletter with multiple resources including a profile and interview with a woman engineer. SWENexters are able to form SWENext Clubs with other fellow members in their local areas where there are opportunities to connect with like minded peers, network and bring in industry professionals. There is also the SWENext High School Leadership Academy (SHLA), which is” an engaging virtual program that builds self-confidence and resilience among pre-college students interested in engineering and technology degrees” and helps to develop leadership skills.
SWE Houston FY25 SWENext Monthly STEM Meetup
The Houston Area section of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE-HA) would like to extend an invitation to SWENext Monthly STEM Meetup Sessions which will allow students to learn more about SWENext, various engineering disciplines and the engineering design process through hands-on activities. SWE-Houston SWENext Monthly Meetup targets 7th through 9th grade female students. This is a free event and we encourage everyone to share with students, parents and educators. Registration is limited and will close per monthly session once the max number of students is reached. After such time, students will be waitlisted and contacted as space becomes available.
